Last night, Saturday night, about 10pm, above was what I saw. Another water main had broken about 40 feet south of the one that broke Friday afternoon. I called 911 to report it and the operator sounded like there were many calls about water spewing from fire hydrants. As of today, Sunday, the water is still leaking from the corroded water pipes that our City Government has failed to maintain properly. (Which is exactly what can, and does happen with gas pipelines.) Please help me hold our City Government, especially the elected ones, accountable for their actions and non-actions on issues such as properly funding the maintenance of our water system.

As of Monday, 6pm the second and third pictures are the same (expect for all of the birds drinking the water). The water is still leaking out of the pipes and traveling 2 blocks down to the drain. Makes me wonder if the City of Ft. Worth has so many leaks in the City -- they can't get to this one anytime soon. Also, how many gallons of water do you suppose that a water leak like this produces in a 72 hour timeframe? Also how much money has the CFW spent on quick fixing the broken pipes? I bet it is more than the preventive costs would have been.
Suzie-This is evident in most large cities, especially in Houston, where I see it daily on the news. How do we hold them accountable, if not a card carrying voter of that area? What law in state government holds local facilities accountable. Environmental is the only avenue I can think of that overlaps into local government. Lissa - If each of us would just pay close attention to what our local elected politicians do and don't do it would greatly help. In Ft. Worth we have a City Cable station and you can actually watch and listen to what your elected officials are doing, how they behave in meetings, what they say and what they seem to care about, how strong, if at all, of a leader they are, etc. I'm not sure what y'all have in Houston, but find a way to listen and watch what your City Council person is doing for starters. I say ask questions and expose wrongdoings and give credit when it's due.
As of Tuesday, 6pm the water leak is still as it has been for the past 96 hours -- your tax dollars hard at work providing treated, somewhat clean (except for the toxic chemicals Chesapeake is pumping in to it) water for the animals in East Ft. Worth.
